Our Military

Winnebago's Active Military

IN TRIBUTE TO THOSE WHO PERISHED ~ IN HONOR OF THOSE WHO SERVED ~ IN GRATITUDE TO THOSE NOW SERVING

Behind every mission, base, and soldier, there is a community that provides a home to our military. The Village of Winnebago is proud to be home to many of the brave men and women who currently serve, have served, or gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy each day. We are proud to support those who serve our nation across all branches of the military and celebrate America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of the country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. Friends, family members, and neighbors serving present and past, in time of peace and in time of war, this is our tribute to you!

The Village of Winnebago is honored to be a Purple Heart Community.

Flags Over Bago

Flags Over Bago is a project to line Elida Street – from Cunningham Road to Winnebago Corners with American flags in honor and appreciation of the brave men and women who currently or previously served in our military.

The flags will be flown on Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day and other appropriate occasions.

The flags have all been sold, however, donations are still being taken to replace or repair the flags that currently fly.  If you would like to make a donation to Flags Over Bago, please stop by the Village Office during business hours, Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
